Hello there! I also agree that Spanish has influenced not only Spain but also other countries in Europe, America, Philippines and other countries in Asia. Therefore taking language courses Spain is the best means to be able to interact with other cultures that have adopted Spanish.

European Spanish is much different from Latin American Spanish. You need to decide where you plan to use the language. My wife is Tica and she had a very difficult time in Spain. It's not indecipherable but it can create major misunderstandings.
