My fiance and I are planning a 2 week honeymoon in August to Costa Rica. Although this our first time there, we don't want to spend all of our time traveling, so I was hoping that some who has been before could reccommend the absolute must sees/dos. I am not even sure where we are staying, so any help with lodging would be great as well! Thanks!

Guanacaste is a good spot. Nice beaches and plenty activities. www.jandctours.com has some good information about beaches, hotels, and tours that may help you plan your honeymoon. Hope this helps and have fun!

On the beach you might try Condovac La costa. A sort of vacation village on the north pacific coast. www.condovac.com
And a absolute must see is the hot springs of tabacon (base of Arenal volcano) at: http://www.tabacon.com/home_i.html
A stunning little beach called playa conchal was overtaken by an all inclusive resort call Paradisus: http://www.paradisusplayaconchal.com/
There are tons of inexpensive places to stay too but I figured you might be drop'n a couple bucks if it's the honeymoon.
Congrats

Well I wont agree with your other advice since the Guanacaste is the furthest to get to so more time spent travelling and the cental pacific is just as nice with many things to do around Jaco. Friends have a little hotel there www.vistapacifico.com if my memory serves me right and only two hours from San Jose plus ther e is Manual Antonio park an hour down the road then in land and further north is Monte Verde and Lake Arenal and Volcano Arenal as well. I have stayed at a couple of small and cheap hotels at both areas at $35 a night. Are you renting a vehicle?

I have to disagree about Jaco. My husband and I were there two years ago. We were supposed to spend two nights there. We were there fifteen minutes and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was full of a bunch of burned out hippy, surfer dudes on drugs hanging around with their Tica wives and girlfriends. We couldn't stand the place. Plus the beach is not that great. We really enjoyed Samara in Guanacaste and also Playa Carrillo. Plus you can get the Arenal and Monteverde pretty easily from there.
Happy traveling.
