What us the best way to get to Puntarenas from Playa Hermosa for the Isla Tortuga tour?

Are there any tours leaving from Playa Hermosa for Isla Tortuga?

Hi,

There is a tour that takes you to Isla Tortuga from Curu Refuge (or nearby) http://www.curuwildliferefuge.com. Curu is located just before Paquera. So I don't think you would need to drive all the way up to Puntarenas.
I believe the best route is through Cobano & Tambor, (can't see many others!). Here are 2 good web sites: http://costa-rica-guide.com/travel/index.php?&option=com_content&task=view&id=360&Itemid=584&slicecenter=J6 for all kind of information and map (I also bought a waterproof map from them which is very good)
and http://www.yourtravelmap.com/costarica/travelmap/index.php?&width=1024 to estimate your travel distance and more importantly your driving time.
I can't tell much more, I'll be there in less than a couple of weeks. Can't wait!!
